Many of our bracelets made in our workshop feature an adjustable clasp: the recipient of the bracelet can easily adapt the received bracelet to the exact size of his or her wrist.
These adjustable clasps can be recognized by their flap. They are available in 2 sizes (for 5mm and 10mm fine leathers) and 3 colors: stainless steel, gold-plated steel or black steel.
To adjust bracelet size:
- either side of the clasp can be opened. Open the bracelet and look at the back. Place the tip of a pen (for example) in the square hole to pry open the back of the clasp and release the leather.
- Cut off the excess leather. Caution: if the bracelet has an engraving, shorten the 2 ends of the bracelet and open both parts of the clasp (so that the engraving remains centered).
- Replace the leather lace in the clasp (not all the way through) and close by clipping.
Good to know!
The flaps (on either side of the flap) can be used to adjust the clasp's tightening force.
If, over time, the clasp becomes too easy to open, before risking losing the bracelet, it's best to tighten the flaps with your fingertips.
